Marji has worked in healthcare-related jobs since 2000, and she took a hiatus in 2007-2008 to live in Thailand, do volunteer work, and study massage techniques practiced there. She was struck by the fact that Thai massage, which can trace its roots back 2,500 years, has long been considered an essential part of the traditional Thai medical system. She returned to massage school in 2020 so she could practice here in Colorado, and she rediscovered her love of therapeutic massage.
Modalities she has certification in: Medical Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, Lymphatic Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, TMJ Treatment, Lomi Lomi Massage, Swedish Massage, Thai Massage, Prenatal Massage, Gua Sha/IASTM, Hot Stone Massage, Cupping, Reflexology
Hi!
I am Dr. Galya (pronounced like “Dahlia, but with a G”) Loewenstein, a licensed acupuncturist with both Colorado and National Board certification, Masters and Doctorate in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine, and my BA in Psychology. I am a recent Colorado resident, having moved from California, and originally from New York.
I am incredibly intrigued by the bio-mechanisms which the human body employs to find and maintain homeostasis; as well as the mental-emotional patterns which influence one’s behavior, and overall health. In an effort to achieve a greater range of understanding, I have spent time working in several health centers and community wellness organizations.
I have worked hands-on in the scientific community, including a trauma recovery & behavioral analysis lab and eye-tracking research committee at Binghamton University.
I also worked in Rady’s’ Children’s’ Hospital, UCSD Cancer Research Center, and Housing Works in NYC during my Masters degree externships. These organizations have granted me experience with a wide range of patient populations with a variety of symptoms and needs.
I have experience with individuals in the ICU, HEM/ONC, Post-op, orthopedic, musculoskeletal, fertility process, pediatrics geriatrics, PTSD, pain management, and more.
My goal is to support each person and to help them get the necessary treatment to find and maintain balance. I work with every individual exactly where they are, and do everything I can to assist them in their healing journey.
